How to Read a Peptide Certificate of Analysis (CoA)

What Is a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
A Certificate of Analysis is the primary quality document for research peptides. It confirms the identity, purity, and safety of a specific batch of research material. Every Alpha Biologix batch is accompanied by a CoA available on request at quality@alphabiologix.com.
Key Elements of a Peptide CoA
Purity by HPLC (%) — High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) separates the components of a peptide sample and measures their relative proportions. A purity of ≥98% means at least 98% of the detected material is the target peptide. Alpha Biologix maintains this standard across its catalog.
Mass Spectrometry (MS) Confirmation — Mass spectrometry confirms the molecular weight of the peptide matches its theoretical value, providing identity verification independent of purity data. Look for the observed molecular weight and compare it to the theoretical value listed on the CoA.
Identity by Amino Acid Analysis — For complex peptides, amino acid analysis may be included to verify the correct sequence composition.
Microbiological and Sterility Data — For products such as exosome materials (e.g., Dynacord), additional testing includes microbial screening and virology panels. These appear as pass/fail results against defined limits.
What to Check Before Using a Research Peptide
Verify that the batch number on your CoA matches the vial label. Confirm the HPLC purity is ≥98% for standard peptides. Check the storage conditions listed match what was maintained during shipping. Review the reconstitution instructions specific to your research protocol.
Requesting a CoA from Alpha Biologix
Email quality@alphabiologix.com with the product name and batch/lot number. CoAs are provided within 1-2 business days. For the Dynacord exosome product line, full third-party panel documentation accompanies every batch automatically.
Manufacturing & Quality
Alpha Biologix manufactures its entire research peptide catalog to pharmaceutical-grade standards: every batch is HPLC-verified to ≥98% purity, independently tested by third-party laboratories, and documented with the batch-specific Certificate of Analysis described above.
All products are for laboratory research use only, not for human consumption.
